We love having families and children volunteer at the shelter together. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, relative, or legal guardian over the age of 18. The guardian must be a trained volunteer or attend a Volunteer Orientation along with their child, as well as sign a release of liability form. Teens between the ages of 14-18 are eligible for our Summer Teen Internship Program as well, which allows them to intern over the summer without their legal guardians.
Become a part of our Family Dog Rescue shelter family!
Volunteers help the shelter run by walking, grooming, playing with and training our dogs. They also help with shelter maintenance, administration, transportation and cleaning. By volunteering, you will learn more about how to train and care for dogs. All volunteers will need to attend an orientation and supervised walk, and we ask for a minimum weekly commitment over the first 4 months. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult
Help staff our weekly mobile adoptions and special events!
These amazing volunteers advocate for our dogs, help with transportation, set up and promotion. By meeting with potential adopters at our events, you will have a direct impact in helping our pups find new homes! Check out the adoption event calendar here!
